Stuffed Chicken Drumsticks

IMG_3557

One of our easy go to meals is shake and bake chicken. This time I decided to change it up a little and stuff the drumsticks with cheese and it turned out really good. I liked how it kept the chicken moist and added an additional texture and flavor you weren't expecting. Get inspired to change up those old go to recipes and surprise your family.

12 chicken drumsticks or wings
4 ounces mozzarella or pepper jack cheese, cut into cubes (I just used the cracker slicked pepper jack cheese)
1 package shake and bake

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Cut a slit into the meatiest part of each piece.

Stuff with cheese cube and pill the meat and skin back over the cheese.

Shake and bake chicken according to package directions. If not using Shake and Bake proceed with coating directions. In a shallow bowl, beat 1 large egg. In another shallow bowl, combine 1 cup unseasoned breadcrumbs with ½ cup grated parmesan cheese and season salt to taste. Working with one piece of chicken at a time, coat with egg, then breadcrumb mixture and placed on a greased baking sheet.

I like to make mine extra spicy so I add a shot of hot sauce then sprinkle on any leftover coating.

Bake until golden brown.

  2. Hmm.. Yummy yummy. something of pleasure; gotta love it! I like your way of prepration procedure, if you paste Corn powder to the drum sticks it will give you awasome taste.
