Weekend Recap

Oh my how this past weekend was a blur. I didn't get to cook or pack for my trip this week at all because I was on the run the whole weekend. Saturday I had to work a rodeo event taking pictures of washer pitcher contestants. Then took the dog to the vet and grabbed lunch. Dropped the car off at NTB to get re-aligned and took a quick nap. (Oh how I love naps! I need these during work, wishful thinking!!) Picked the car up and headed back home to take a shower and get ready for dinner at Tony's (OMG FANTASTIC!! More on this in a minute.) and after dinner my hubby and I headed to the symphony.

Tony's was amazing we had 5 different people tend to us. We normally don't do super fancy places besides the occasional steak place, but this was top notch all the way. We had a guy handle our drinks, a wine guy, regular waiter, dessert person, and a bread guy. I happened to mention that we were gonna share our dinners. My husband and I always get 2 different things and share. They ended up having the kitchen prepare the dishes and had them split for us. I thought that was really nice of them. We started out with Lobster Bisque then had a Peppered Crusted Tuna, Crispy Sea Bass in Padella, Truffled Macaroni & Cheese, Oven Roasted Truffled Potatoes. We finished off the meal with a Cheesecake Topped with a Bourbon Pecan Sauce. Soooo goooood! The even brought out this strawberry and meringue cookie tree. The pictures are hard to see I used my phone and didn't want to be so obvious.

On to the symphony. The show was music by composer John Williams who wrote music for Star Wars as well as Indiana Jones, ET, Jaws, Harry Potter and the NBC intro for the nightly news. It was an amazing show and afterwards the had some people dressed up so of course I had to get my picture taken. It was a really great show and I highly recommend it.

Sunday was another full day. I got some shooting time in to get ready for a concealed handgun class I'm taking in 2 weeks. Yeah I know I live in Texas and you have to own a gun! Anyway, we headed home and got ready for the Houston Rodeo Uncorked event. It's a huge venue and they said they had over 3,500 people so you know they had a lot of wine and food to go around. Over 125 wines to try and over 50 restaurants you can't go wrong there's something for everyone. The food was great and I don't know how many wines we ended up trying, but it was a lot of fun. I'm trying to get on this committee next year so I had to go check it out. I'm looking like a hot mess so sorry you have to see me that way. It was the end of the night, guess I should have done pictures earlier.

Hope you have a great week! I still need to pack before I leave for Disney World for a 6:30am flight on Wednesday!
