My baby girl is 3!

Friday was my little girls birthday!! She's super sweet and I don't know how we could ever live without her! Anyone who has a pet will tell you that they have their own personality and know exactly how to work you into getting what they want. Mocha for instance will run to the back door and jump around like she's about to pee on herself. I rush her out and what does she do? She slowly walks out to the perfect spot in the sun and lays down. I've wised up to that trick, she's on a really good schedule so I know when she's pulling my leg wanting to go out just to sun bathe.

She loves the water and she loves kids. The neighbors love her to death and she's the most popular person on the street there's no doubt about that. She has all of our friends wrapped around her paw and even Granna who's not a big dog person.

Lucky Dog Rescue is the organization that we got Mocha from and there's plenty more dogs out there looking for homes. If you're looking for a group to make a donation to this year, please consider this group. Click on the logo below and it'll take you directly to their site where you can make donations online. They also have a list of adoptable pets too so be sure to stop by and check them out.

We celebrated on late Sunday afternoon and invited her new buddy baby Ryleigh over for a play date. I say baby, even though she weighs just as much as Mocha does and she's the same size, never the less she's super sweet and Mocha did wonderful with her.
They both ate some pupcakes, ran around playing and even swam together.

I have to admit these lil pupcakes are pretty good. I had one (minus the dog food sprinkles) to see how they tasted. They are moist and have a great consistency. Go figure that Mocha ate the frosting first like many kids do then ate the cake part.

I used the pupcakes recipe and instead of making a frosting I just iced them with peanut butter.

Pupcakes:
2 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 (16-ounce) can pumpkin
1 cup plain yogurt
16 ounces honey
1 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Icing:
Peanut butter

Sprinkles:
dry dog food, crushed

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

In a medium mixing bowl, mix the whole-wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and ginger.

In a separate larger bowl, mix the canned pumpkin, yogurt, honey, vegetable oil, and vanilla.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix on medium-low speed with a hand mixer.

Put the cupcake liners in the cupcake tin and fill the liners about 3/4 of the way, being careful not to overfill.

Bake until a toothpick inserted into a pupcake comes out clean, about 18 to 20 minutes. Remove the pupcakes from the pan and cool on cooling rack, about 20 minutes.

While the pupcakes are cooling, put 1/4 cup dry dog food in a baggie and crush with a rolling pin.

Once pupcakes are cool, ice with peanut butter and sprinkle crushed dog food on top.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOCHA!!!!
