Pumpkin Pie Spiced Rice Krispies

IMG_6453

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween! We had fantastic weather and lots of fun with all our neighbors. I dressed up as a vampire and hubby was a skeleton groom. Mocha was a super cute bat. We went a little more all out since the kids on the street are getting older.

Over the weekend we had some friends over to carve pumpkins. Every year I think we have the best pumpkins and then once again we top ourselves. Here’s a peak at how they turned out:

Our friends Tad and Angela did a really cool skeleton inside a pumpkin. I totally loved this idea!

Alright onto one of the snacks my friend Christen brought over. This was a huge hit and I would make them again for the Fall season. Not sure why I didn’t think of this myself, but she found it on Pinterest. If you haven’t checked it out you’ll be addictive I promise. It’s like searching the internet for new ideas, but so much easier.

Browned Butter Pumpkin Spice Krispie Treats
(Adapted from Cookies & Cups)

Printer Friendly Version

1/4 cup salted butter
1 (10.5) oz bag mini marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispie cereal
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Spray 9×9 pan with non-stick spray. Over med-low heat melt your butter. Once your butter is melted, continue to cook until butter starts to brown. It will turn a golden brown color and develop a nutty aroma. Be careful not to burn. Once the butter begins to brown it can burn quickly. Stir up any brown bits. Add the marshmallows and pumpkin pie spice. Stir until marshmallows are melted. Remove from heat and stir in rice krispies. When mixed spread the krispie mixture in your prepared pan. Spray a sheet of wax paper or parchment with non-stick spray and gently press the krispies down evenly. Let cool for 30 minutes and then cut into squares.
