Mahi Mahi with Macadamia Nut Crust

If you're deciding to start the new year off on a lighter note I have an excellent fish dish that's filling as well as delicious. I like to serve it with some egg noodles, but you could use rice or any other side you like.

Mahi Mahi with Macadamia Nut Crust

1 mahi mahi fillet
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
herbs and seasonings to your liking
1/3 cup panko
1/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts
1/8 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter melted, or squeeze butter
fresh ground pepper

Place mahi mahi in a shallow dish and cover with lime juice. Marinate for 1 hour turning occasionally.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine panko, macadamia nuts and salt.

Remove mahi mahi from lime juice and place in a baking dish. Cover with butter and sprinkle desired herbs and seasonings.

Spoon panko mixture atop mahi mahi, pressing lightly to adhere.

Bake until fish is cooked through, about 20 minutes.

  1. I like your crust and cooking technique. Wonder if it would work on other fish?

  2. Allie, this sounds fabulous. A restaurant close to use advertised something similar to this and it was fantastic. I am glad to have your recipe to try at home.
